The course is aimed at those who are looking to undertake Personal Survival Techniques, Elementary First Aid, Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting, Proficiency in Security Awareness and Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities as a block.

This 1- day course aims to make students aware of the dangers inherent in survival situations. Students will gain knowledge of life saving equipment and survival techniques and appreciate the importance of onboard emergency drills and exercises. This is an ideal opportunity for students to see and use a life raft in a wet environment.
On successful course completion, candidates will be able to:
Understand the main types of maritime emergencies
Identify and use survival equipment during a maritime emergency
Understand the principles of survival during a maritime emergency
Know how to abandon ship during a maritime emergency
Know how to survive in the water during a maritime emergency
Know how to use a survival craft during a maritime emergency
The aim is to give all persons going to sea, a basic knowledge of the immediate measures to be taken upon encountering an accident or medical emergency aboard ship.
Theoretical input is backed up by practical exercises, and it is important that candidates participate actively if they are to generate the confidence that the course is designed to impart.
The course covers the following:
Identify types of accidents and emergencies that may require first aid
Methods of raising the alarm and assessing risk to self and casualty
Measures to be taken when accident or medical emergencies occur
Appreciation of body structure and systems relating to first aid
Types and control of bleeding, including use of bandages
Resuscitation techniques to maintain airway, breathing and circulation
Treatment and care of unconscious and choking casualties
Recognise and apply appropriate measures of basic shock management
Apply appropriate measure for burns and scalds, including electric shock
Positioning of casualty according to injury, including fractures
Rescue and transportation of a casualty
This 2.5 day course is designed to give candidates a basic understanding of types of fires, methods of extinguishing them and the onboard firefighting equipment. Candidates are introduced to basic equipment maintenance, the use of breathing apparatus and search and rescue techniques, as well as live firefighting.
On successful course completion, candidates will be able to:
Understand and minimise the risk of fire on board.
Use onboard equipment, procedures and personal safety requirements in fire situations.
Fight and extinguish fires.
Safely use of Breathing Apparatus
Overalls and protective clothing will be provided, but it is recommended that you bring suitable lightweight working clothes (i.e. socks, shorts and t-shirts) with you.
One of the basic safety training courses under STCW, for persons who would like a career on board ship. The course aims to contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness, recognising security threats and understanding the need security awareness and vigilance.
The course covers the following:
Raise awareness of the importance of ship security and the roles of those involve in its provision.
Awareness of the requirements and measures to maintain ship security.
Recognise and report security threats.
The course will enable those undergoing training to put into practice techniques and procedures for maintaining the security of the vessel through role-play, simulation and scenario-based training.
One of the basic training courses under STCW, for persons who would like a career on board ship. The course covers basic safety and legislative requirements to be understood by any person embarking on a career at sea and those designated safety or pollution prevention duties.

How to comply with procedures for emergency situations on board
Precautions taken to prevent pollution to the marine environment
Understanding the importance of following safe working practices
Ability to contribute to effective communications on board ship
Ability to contribute to effective human relationships on board ship
Understands the causes of fatigue and knows the necessary actions to control fatigue.
