Who it is aimed at:

Contractors who hold a CCNSG Safety Passport with responsibility for leading others on sites within the engineering construction sector. It is required by some power generation sites, refineries, petrochemical sites, process industries and many other sites such as paper mills to show teams will be led safely.

Entry requirements

Candidates must hold a CCNSG Safety Passport and have conversational level English to allow full participation in lessons and discussions.

About this course

CCNSG Leading a Team Safely (LaTS) is a one-day workshop designed to provide an essential introduction to managing small teams within the context of Health and Safety in the Engineering Construction Industry.

Course Content:
The course is based around the concept of ‘The Good Job’ and structured into four elements:
• The Team
• The Plan
• The Job
• Good Job
The workshop covers key topics including:
• How to communicate successfully
• How to lead a team successfully
• How to achieve safe outcomes
• Self-management
• How to work safely with others
It explores these topics in an interactive way and delegates’ participation throughout the day is a key factor.

Assessment

Assessment is by multiple choice answer questions at the end of the day.

Qualifications

A CCNSG Leading a Team Safely card CCNSG accredited by the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB). Unlike other CCNSG qualifications there is no temporary card. The LaTS card is sent to the delegate in 4-6 weeks of this (in practice cards normally arrive sooner than this) and this and is valid for three years from the date of the course. The holder of a LaTS card will continue to need their CCNSG Safety Passport Card.
