Who it is aimed at:
Contractors who hold a CCNSG Safety Passport with responsibility for leading others on sites within the engineering construction sector. It is required by some power generation sites, refineries, petrochemical sites, process industries and many other sites such as paper mills to show teams will be led safely.
Entry requirements
Learners must hold a CCNSG Safety Passport and have conversational level English to allow full participation in lessons and discussions.
About this course
CCNSG Leading a Team Safely (LaTS) is a one-day workshop designed to provide an essential introduction to managing small teams within the context of Health and Safety in the Engineering Construction Industry.
The CCNSG Leading a Team Safely (LaTS) course focuses on the essentials of leadership such as planning, implementing and reviewing, with a natural emphasis on health and safety.
LaTS is aimed at supervisory staff who have responsibility for teams, but who may have had little or no training in health and safety responsibilities or in the essentials of leadership.
Course Content:
The course is based around the concept of ‘The Good Job’ and structured into four elements:
• The Team
• The Plan
• The Job
• Good Job
The workshop covers key topics including:
• How to communicate successfully
• How to lead a team successfully
• How to achieve safe outcomes
• Self-management
• How to work safely with others
It explores these topics in an interactive way and learners’ participation throughout the day is a key factor.
