CCNSG Safety Passport Course (2 Day)

Who it is aimed at:
Contractors working on sites in the engineering construction sector. It is required by power generation sites, refineries, petrochemical sites, process industries and many other sites such as paper mills before entry on the site will be permitted. ECS card holders – the CCNSG safety passport qualifies the holder for an exemption from the ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment.
Entry requirements
Learners must be 16 or over and have conversational level English to allow full participation in lessons and discussions.
About this course
The CCNSG National Safety Course is a two-day training course in site health and safety awareness.
There are four sessions (two each day):
1.Understanding personal site safety responsibilities
2.Health and safety legislation, regulations and safe working practices and procedures
3.Common workplace hazards and risks
4.Other hazards, safety signs, PPE and the environment

Relevant health and safety legislation including the responsibilities of clients/site operators, employers and employees.
Approved codes of practice.
Role of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Sources of health and safety information.
Who is responsible for the health and safety of people working on a site.
The consequences for employers and employees of not fulfilling their legal health and safety responsibilities.
The purpose and nature of risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work systems, and the relevance of local procedures and safe systems of work.
